Upstate Livestock Exchange, LLC is owned and operated by Marty & Sandra Fulghum and their sons Raleigh & Cody Fulghum of Lavonia, GA. They have raised commercial cattle & quarter horses in Hart County for over 30 years. They have three children and two grandchilden.
Sandra's grandfather, Willie Sheriff and his brother Garland, built the first livestock auction barn in Toccoa in 1947. At that time, the nearest barn was in Gainesville, GA. Later, Willie and another brother built a new barn at Eastanollee, Ga in the late 60's and closed the Toccoa barn. Marty & Sandra operated the barn in the early 90's until it was sold.
The Fulghums realize how important the local livestock auction is to the area. They are both from farming families and have continued the farming tradition. They realize the hard work that goes into producing food for the world.
